Prom gown

One of the things I love best is the feeling that I am helping others to learn and enjoy sewing. I try to encourage anyone I can to this end.

Here is a requested prom gown tutorial that is very simple and easy to follow.  Learn how to make your own pattern to suit the type of doll you want to make the dress for!

Fallout kit bash

Wow, its been a whirlwind for me with so much going on! Finishing off the renovations for my craft room and working on this miniature fallout inspired kit bash at the same time.

There is a two part video series on this kit bash so you can watch me work and see some tips on how I achieved this completed project.

Watch the videos here...

Part one

Part two

Base house done and aging process of the floors and walls have begun.

Adding dirt and plants to the house really brought the abandoned house look together.

Here is the completed house in all its glory!

Best painting ever! Cute little magazines too.

I'm glad we moved on from bright yellow and green dining sets. I seriously hope we don't regress in the 2200s and go back to this awful colour scheme haha. Anyway, true to the fallout theme I painted the dining set to match the game.

You could still use these stairs right?

Mmmmm sugar bombs...

I was thinking that there should be a lamp or something on the bedside table. Thoughts?

Awwww look at the teeny tiny toilet.

Camera death

Hay everyone! I have some terrible news. While filming my next youtube tutorial on my brand new adorable miniature ball jointed doll, my camera desired to commit seppuku! It froze up and even melted the SSD card inside. Couldn't possible break my heart more...

I will be taking it (throwing it out) to a technician tomorrow in the hopes that the SSD card data can be recovered somehow. Otherwise I'll make another ball jointed doll showcase and tutorial as soon as I can.

Just a little frustrating about my camera...just look how cute my BJD is! I was really looking forward to showing her off this week.

She's crazy tiny and a lot sturdier than I expected. Mind you that's not an invitation to be rough, she's still delicate haha.

Her face is very well painted and fixated well, so it was nice not having to bee too concerned about damaging her make-up while painfully trying to dress her. I was more scared of breaking something than anything else.

My god is her hair fluffy though. I believe its made of angora goat hair, and the wig cap itself looks to be leather or part of the original hide. I plan on putting some keratin oil in it just to minimise the fuzzy fly-aways in the future.

I'll let everyone know as soon as I order a new camera and it has been delivered.. ho hum
Dont forget to check out solersart's shop on ebay to get your very own miniature ball jointed doll!

Room box kitchen

Hey everyone! I have been working on a miniature kitchen which I wont be doing a tutorial on. The kitchen is a 45cm x 25cm x 28cm room box made of base wood. The floor is match sticks that I sanded and stained then coated with varnish.

The cabinets were made from a combination of balsa and base wood, and all doors are fixated with a pin instead of a standard hinge.

The table I made however I purchased the chairs off ebay for $2 including shipping. Each handle is made from strips of aluminium and painted with copper paint.
The sink is for decoration only and does not work and made from a piece of aluminium that was hammered out.

The stove and ramge hood are balsa and painted black. The stove elements are pieces of wire that have been bent to simulate gas filaments.
I also installed a small hook stand next to the stove to hang utensils in the future.

For now the only decoration I have complete is a loomed rug which I will have a tutorial on youtube for next week.

I will have to start working on a fridge now =)

Vertical pallet garden

Hey everyone! I recently uploaded another tutorial on youtube on how to make a miniature vertical pallet garden. The vertical planter project has taken pinterest by storm and there are many DIYs on how to make you own. Now I will show you how to make one in 1:12 scale miniature for your dollhouse.

If you prefer your pallet to be a little bit larger to suit barbie or monster high, simply double the measurements. All details and measurements are listed on the video's description as well.

Harry Potter Mandrakes

Hey everyone! I made two miniature Harry Potter inspired mandrakes from polymer clay. The tutorial can be found on my youtube channel http://www.youtube.com/c/MiniaturesAbsolutely
I have imbed the video at the bottom of this post =)

I made two versions, a fully mature and a juvenile.  This project was quite fun to make. I might make some more Harry Potter inspired miniatures in the future if anyone is interested.

Quick shot before the mature mandrake was prebaked for the first time.

After prebake and painted using acrylic paints. You could use inks as well to give the same effect. I simply wanted some definition to the scratches and to age the 'wood' areas a little.

All finished! The immature mandrake was given a little pot to hide in, Nothing fancy =)

I actually find the little one kind of cute haha!

Here is the video tutorial =)

Apple iPhone 7

Hey everyone!
I have just uploaded another video tutorial for a miniature iPhone 7 in 1:6 scale. This miniature uses a different method to my samsung miniature. I hope you enjoy!

My dog Matty was super happy to get some attention. He is always fascinated by people that speak through a phone. He hasn't quite worked out how they work yet.

This phone is perfect for monster high and barbie dolls. It matches my Miss Catrine perfectly!

Dining cutlery

Hi guys! Here are some adorable steel (yes steel!) 1:6 scale cutlery.

They were created from a thin steel sheet that I cut out and ground down using a hand jewelry saw. Each piece was hammered and polished by hand. Thank you  Mike for the request to make more realistic cutlery hehe!

Easter bunny

Hi everyone! This past Easter, I created an adorable OOAK bunny out of scrap clay.

Here is the beginnings of the teeny bunny, Looks more like a were rabbit haha! I used the scrap clay I had been saving and base painted him white.

The bun fur is alpaca fur that I flocked to the right length.

For those of you that are allergic or intolerant to dairy (like myself) I made a tiny purple sugar paste egg which was a common gift I received during this time of year.

Each tiny Easter egg is true to form and can be unwrapped and broken to reveal a hollow egg.

Speckled eggs were also a favorite of mine. Candy or sugar coated with dark chocolate middle...yum!

I had heaps of fun creating this submission. I might look into doing some more realistic animals in the future!
